California adventure! Part 1

Good morning oppo! Lovely sunrise here in Morro Bay, CA and what an exciting day it is. Today my girlfriend and I will be heading from here up “The One” and ending our day in San Francisco. Stops are planned in Big Sur, Pacific Grove Butterfly Sanctuary, Big Basin Redwood State Park, and finally San Fran! Since we are taking the scenic route that will of course take all day. It’s under 300 miles though so it’s not really all that much driving. Hoping I don’t get stuck behind too many RVs along the way.

Nice view from the lovely place my girlfriend picked out too!

Also, top tip: Don’t call it “San Fran”. Locals call it either San Francisco or “The City”.

You are 4 miles from my house! Enjoy the drive up, I highly recommend lunch at Nepenthe near Big Sur.

Yeah lunch mostly consisted of pretzels and some leftover homemade donuts. We plan to spend a real weekend some time in Big Sur so that place will be on the list then for sure!

You go to that farmers market in SLO? That was a pretty good accidental find. We ended up getting some really good food from there last night.

I'm sure there are plenty of other tourist moments for me. I've got a NY Yankees hat for one haha. But yeah the drive was great. Second time doing this segment but still just as breathtaking. Fog was a little nuts but it cleared up as we went North.
